And I think it was explained in some scenes, like when Detective Choi explained Chef Kwon's past in Harvard Medical School he dropped out from being a doctor after some psychological test, just like Detective Choi said "I think it was hard for him to suppress his urge to kill So I assume he felt conflicted by the life-saving nature of doctors".

Oh come on, he's a SERIAL KILLER and YOU DON'T NEED ANY PARTICULAR REASONS TO BE A SERIAL KILLER. I don't know why people made a fuss about they didn't get any explanation why Chef Kwon killed all of his victims.
